Barry Campaign: press release addressing potential concerns about the legal issue facing the candidate’s family

First of all, my campaign and I would like to thank all of our supporters. Truly, it continues to be an honor for me to listen and work with each of you. It has come to my attention that some of my future constituents are unaware of some family issues that have come to light, and I would like to take this opportunity to let you hear about them from me.

It is true that members of my family are facing serious legal issues following an event that occurred in 2018. Going through what has been a lengthy legal process, it is unfortunate that these issues have not yet been addressed. This year. , the same year I ran for Congress. My mother and sister are facing reckless homicide charges in the tragic death of a young woman who was in my family’s custody. This information is public knowledge with which I have always been candid whenever the subject has been brought up and, at times, when appropriate, shared with many of my followers. I am making this statement as the trial approaches to ensure that none of my supporters feel caught out if they are not yet aware of the situation.

Although I am not authorized to discuss the details of this open legal case and would never do anything to politically influence the case, I want you to know that I stand with my family and wholeheartedly believe in their innocence. I firmly believe that our justice system will confirm this. The United States court system, with all its flaws, remains the greatest court system the world has ever known. Here we believe in the innocence of the accused – that he is innocent until proven guilty. We believe in proving beyond a reasonable doubt that the accused committed a crime. Here, we believe that the system blindly seeks the truth, and the truth about my family is that they are innocent. With the charges against my family, it has been suggested by a select few that I should not run until this matter is resolved. I respectfully disagree with this sentiment. I have not been charged with any questionable actions, and in this great country charges against members of his family are indeed not an indictment against an individual. This race is vitally important to the people of this neighborhood, and I won’t give up!

I want to encourage each of you that these issues, these concerns do not distract me from my mission to win this race. The determination that drives my candidacy has always been centered on representing you, the people of the 2nd Congressional District. My family was blessed by the stories I shared with them from my time on the campaign trail. They believe in me as much as I believe in their innocence.

I thank each of you for your continued support of my candidacy. I also thank each of you for your personal support for me and my family. Your kind thoughts, words and prayers for me and my family are appreciated more than you can imagine. Thank you!
