Chelsea LIVE press conference: Thomas Tuchel on Tottenham, Silva, Ziyech, Mount, Lukaku and more

Good evening and welcome to live coverage of Thomas Tuchel’s post-match press conference following Chelsea’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.

The Blues have entered the game without a win in their last four Premier League games. A reaction was needed from Tuchel’s side, especially as the German decided to make just two changes from the squad which drew 1-1 with Brighton on Tuesday night.

Tuchel understood it. Chelsea were the better team in the opening period and two chances were fashioned for Romelu Lukaku by Mason Mount which the Belgium striker failed to take.

Harry Kane had the ball in the net for the home side in the first half but the goal was ruled out for a foul by the England captain on Thiago Silva. It was a 50/50 call.

Chelsea took the lead in the second half. Hakim Ziyech scored a superb goal to put the Blues ahead and Silva then headed home a Mount free kick to put the home side in control.

Tottenham didn’t offer much in response, although Kepa had to produce a fine late save to deny Kane and ensure Chelsea saw the game without any problems.

After putting on a dejected figure on Tuesday night at Brighton, Tuchel is far more likely to be in a positive mood tonight when he faces the media for his post-match press conference.

We’ll have live updates below.
