Freedom of the press at Fairy Creek

TORONTO, July 13, 2021 / CNW / – The Canadian Association of Journalists, in partnership with a coalition of news organizations and press freedom groups, invites members of the media to attend a virtual press conference tomorrow, July 14, 2021, at Noon ET/9:00 a.m. PST.

The press conference takes place before the arguments are formally presented before a judge in Nanaimo regarding the RCMP’s restriction on the rights of journalists to cover a protest in the Fairy Creek watershed, near Port Renfrew, BC

The press conference will provide members of the media with an update on our coalition’s arguments, the evidence submitted and answer questions.
