Marvel Comics adaptation of ‘The Mandalorian’ to be released in June – AIPT

In a press release this weekend, StarWars.com announced that an eight-issue adaptation of Star Wars: The MandalorianThe first season of will be released in June. The miniseries will be written by Rodney Barnes and drawn by Georges Jeanty. Each issue will correspond to one of the first eight episodes of the series.

As expected, the series covers will feature a ton of variations. The main cover of the first issue (photo below) will be designed by Adi Granov. Hopefully Marvel and Lucasfilm will also hire the Instagram artist who has already done amazing comic covers for every episode.

While news of potential Mandalorian comics was announced in June 2020, today’s announcement could be the first step towards us finally getting some original comic adventures in the near future.

THE MANDALORIAN COMEDY ADAPTATION UNLOCKS IN JUNE – EXCLUSIVE

Starting in June, Marvel’s The Mandalorian will be an eight-issue episode-by-episode adaptation of the Disney+ first season of the series, StarWars.com is thrilled to reveal. The series will be written by Rodney Barnes and illustrated by Georges Jeanty, with several variant covers available for each episode. For fans of The Mandalorian and star wars comic book adaptations, it’s your chance to experience the events and characters of Season 1 in a whole new way. “The story of the mandalorian ticks so many boxes of things I’m passionate about,” Barnes told StarWars.com. “I love westerns, fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, drama…this is a dream gig for any writer. I’m just happy to have been chosen for this mission!

“I’ve always thought that an artist’s style was very much like writing in shorthand. It’s very subjective. What I bring to star wars is my detail and my love for a galaxy far, far away,” adds Jeanty. “star wars, especially when it comes to bounty hunters, is a messy landscape. I love drawing all the little details. My look has always been about the details, and with The Mandalorian there’s so much going on with the character and behind the scenes, and I can’t wait to visually add to the already rich tapestry that makes up this universe!

This news follows the exciting announcement of new Star Wars: Obi-Wan Krrsantan series and collectionboth coming soon from Marvel.
