Padres announces 2022 regular season broadcast schedule

SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Padres, in partnership with Bally Sports San Diego and 97.3 The Fan, today announced their 2022 regular season broadcast schedule. All of the Padres’ regular season games will be televised in English on Bally Sports San Diego, AppleTV+, ESPN, FS1, FOX Sports or TBS. Games produced by Bally Sports San Diego will also be available for live, authenticated streaming on the Bally Sports app and on BallySports.com, and a minimum of 79 regular season games will be available on a Spanish language broadcast offering from Bally Sports. . Additionally, all 162 regular season games will be broadcast live on radio in English and Spanish on 97.3 The Fan and XEMO-AM La Poderosa 860, respectively.

Regular season coverage on Bally Sports San Diego includes 158 games and begins Thursday, April 7, with Major League Baseball’s opening day when the Padres take on the Arizona Diamondbacks in Phoenix. Coverage will begin at 5:30 p.m. PT with an expanded Padres Live pregame show leading up to the game and conclude with a 30-minute Padres Live postgame show. The home TV broadcast schedule will begin April 14 for the Padres’ home opener against the Atlanta Braves, with an hour-long Padres Live pregame show starting at 4 p.m. PT. Bally Sports San Diego is widely available on AT&T Uverse, COX, Charter Spectrum, DirecTV and Mediacom. Fans interested in a streaming provider are encouraged to get DirecTV Stream.

Don Orsillo returns to handle play-by-play television duties in 2022. He will be joined by former Padres pitcher Mark Grant returning in the analyst role, with Tony Gwynn Jr. for select games. Rounding out Bally Sports San Diego’s broadcast team will be Mike Pomeranz, Mark Sweeney, Bob Scanlan and Annie Heilbrunn.

The network will continue to provide Padres Live pregame and postgame coverage, giving fans unparalleled access to the team with interviews, original features and more. Pomeranz and Sweeney will again provide expert analysis throughout the season.

Spanish TV coverage during the 2022 season begins April 14 with a Spanish language broadcast offering from Bally Sports that includes approximately 79 home games. The Spanish voice of the Padres, Eduardo Ortega, with the former catcher of the Padres, Carlos Hernandez. Bally Sports’ Spanish language TV shows will be available throughout San Diego on COX.

All 162 Padres regular season games will air live on radio in English and Spanish in 2022. English language shows with Jesse Agler and Tony Gwynn Jr. can be found on 97.3 The Fan and streamed on the Audacy app in San Diego. Padres Radio Network has extended its reach to several cities outside of San Diego, including Temecula, CA (KXFG 92.9), Palm Springs, CA (KKGX 920 AM and 99.1 FM), and Las Vegas, Nevada (98.5 HD2 The Fan). The Fan will also host hour-long pre- and post-game shows in 2022. Sam Levitt, who was previously the play-by-play voice of Arizona Diamondbacks Double-A affiliate Amarillo Sod Poodles, will host of the pre-game and post-game shows as he enters his first season covering the Padres.

Spanish radio shows featuring Eduardo Ortega, Carlos Hernandez and Pedro Gutiérrez can be found on the Padres’ flagship Spanish station, XEMO-AM La Poderosa 860.

Padres programming airing on Bally Sports San Diego will also stream live on the Bally Sports app and on ballysports.com when a consumer authenticates through their pay-TV service. The Bally Sports app will be available on mobile and tablet devices, including iOS and Android, and connected devices including Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, DIRECTV Stream, Google Chromecast, PlayStation, Roku Players and Roku TV, Samsung and LG and Xbox One platforms. Fans can download the app for free from iTunes App Store, Google Play, Amazon App Store, Roku App Store, XBOX One App Store and Windows App Store.

The Padres will also be featured on several national broadcasts beginning with their return to FS1 on April 16 when they host the Braves, followed by ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball on April 17 against Atlanta to wrap up the home opener. Other national broadcasts include four additional games on FS1: May 14 in Atlanta, May 21 in San Francisco against the Giants, June 30 in Los Angeles against the Dodgers and September 7 in Arizona. As part of MLB’s new partnership with Apple, fans can stream the May 13 Padres game on AppleTV+ when the team takes on the Braves on the road as part of the new “Friday Night Baseball.” The Padres will also be featured on TBS on April 12 when they play in San Francisco as well as FOX Sports’ Saturday Game of the Week on July 2 when they visit the Dodgers and July 9 when they host the Giants. Additionally, two games will air on ESPN Radio on April 16 and 17 when the Padres host the Braves.
